I am teaching in my 32nd year at Bradley. I was appointed as the Turner Chair of Entrepreneurship in the Foster College of Business Administration in 2007.
We have recently launched an Entrepreneurship Major at Bradley, replacing the earlier concentration in entrepreneurship. Go to the Foster College of Business web site www.bradley.edu/fcba for more information. There are currently approximately 70 students in the major. The entrepreneurship program at Bradley has recently received national rankings in Entrepreneur Magazine and in Forbes magazine. The program has been featured in Bradley's alumni magazine, Hilltopics. Our Collegiate Entrepreneurs' Organization (CEO) has also won some awards. We took 40 students to the National Collegiate Entrepreneurs' conference in Orlando in 2005 and Chicago in 2006 and 2007, thanks to the generosity of Steve Gorman, an alum who is now Executive Vice President - Operations at Delta Airlines.
Bradley University recently assumed the publication of the Journal of Small Business Strategy in 2004, and I am the editor of the journal. Our first issue, Vol. 15-1, came out in April 2005. Vol. 18-2 came out in March, 2008. Go to www.jsbs.org for more information on it.
My research interests are primarily in entrepreneurship and small business. I have published approximately 50 articles. Go to the research link on the left for more information. I have written six books. My most significant one was Business: An Integrative Approach which was published through three editions and has been translated into Chinese. I have also written or co-authored Strategic Planning for Small Businesses Made Easy (2005), Strategic Planning for New and Emerging Businesses (1999) which was also published in a 2nd edition, Entrepreneurship: A Planning Approach (1993), and Strategic Planning in Small Businesses (1985). Some of my books have been translated into other languages -- Chinese and Arabic.
I have been married 38 years. We have two children, both of whom live and work in Hawaii. This makes a nice place to visit. You can click on family photos for some pictures of our family and our siblings.
